Where are you based?
Colorado Springs, Colorado.
I occasionally travel to Omaha, Nebraska and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
What's your editing style like?
My editing style is true to color while maintaining my own unique style. I also enjoy incorporating the occasional black-and-white photo in your galleries for added depth and contrast.
What should I expect during as session?
Get ready to have a great time! I aim to create a relaxed atmosphere where you feel completely comfortable, allowing us to genuinely enjoy the moment with you and your loved ones. After all, being present in the moment leads to the BEST photos!
What is your turn around time?
You can expect to receive your complete galleries within 7-14 days. Elopements have a turn around of 14-21 days.
What time do you normally shoot at?
The ideal time for outdoor sessions is between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM (give or take with daylight savings) when the sun is settin and the lighting is soft and flattering. For indoor shoots, we have more flexibility in scheduling, but we’ll still need to take advantage of strong natural light (morning time on the weekends!).
Where do your sessions take place?
The real question is: what’s your dream location? I frequently shoot in and around Colorado Springs and have a list of great spots we can explore together. I typically like to keep our sessions within a 25-mile radius of the Springs.
Can I do newborn photos in my house?
Absolutely! I’ll bring all my gear straight to you. I know having a newborn can be challenging, so let me help ease the stress by coming to your home for your little one’s first photography session.
Do you own a studio?
I don’t have a studio myself, but Colorado Springs offers some fantastic rental studios we can consider for your indoor session. Please note that studio fees will apply when renting the space.
When is the best time for any type of newborn session?
The ideal time for newborn sessions is typically between 5 to 14 days old. Most of my sessions are scheduled before 11:00 AM, as little ones tend to be happiest in the morning. However, if your baby is more comfortable later in the day, just let me know, and we can accommodate that!
What should I wear?
The goal is to ensure you feel your absolute best! Wear whatever makes you comfortable, but I offer style guidance to help you choose the perfect outfits by request. Here are some tips to keep in mind:
- Neutrals always work well!
- Avoid shirts with logos and graphics.
- Look for complementary colors—search for "family photo color schemes" on Pinterest for inspiration!
- For newborn lifestyle photos, simplicity is key. Also, have a couple of backup outfits for the baby—you never know what kind of mess they might make!
- Most importantly, wear what makes you feel the best!
Do you give out RAWs or unedited photos?
No, I never provide unedited images. I put a lot of effort into editing your photos, and the final images are a reflection of my business and style. I strive for consistency in my work to align with my brand, so unedited images wouldn’t represent that vision.
